If you find that you need to remain in your educational program beyond the date originally estimated for completion of the program – as stated in item 5 on your initial I-20 form – you must file an application for extension of your permission to stay in the U.S.

This application must be submitted to ISS within the 30 days prior to the date of completion specified on your original I-20 form.
