International Student Orientation is offered at the beginning of each semester. All new international students are required to attend the orientation programs, which are coordinated by the Office of International Student Services.
The Orientation program is designed to provide you with important information regarding immigration and visa regulations, college policies and procedures, and other information you need to know as a student at the State University of New York - Brockport. The Orientation also serves as an introduction to the University and the Village of Brockport, in addition to facilitating an opportunity to meet and interact with members of the campus community.
All international students who have been admitted for the Fall 2013 semester are expected to arrive on campus Monday, Aug. 19, 2013 for orientation and registration activities. Some graduate programs, however, may require students to arrive somewhat earlier than this date. Please check with your program to be sure.
Arrival pick-ups will be provided August 19-23 only. If your arrival is outside of these dates you will need to schedule your own transportation to Brockport and reserve hotel accomodation.
Undergraduate students who have paid an on-campus housing deposit will be permitted to move into their residences on Aug. 19, 2013. If you have not paid your housing deposit and plan to live on campus, you must pay your deposit at that time. To get through the first few days on campus, we recommend that you bring a sheet, pillow and case, blanket, and towel with you. Additional items can be purchased after your arrival. Students who plan to live off campus must secure their own housing. We recommend that you arrive in Brockport prior to Aug. 19, 2013 in order to locate housing. You can learn more about off-campus housing options by clicking here.
