Reporting to Campus

Entrance to campus

Once you have successfully entered the United States, you must report to campus. We strongly encourage all international students to arrange their schedules in order to participate in the  International Student Orientation.

If you are planning to arrive on the dates specified by the Office for International Student Services, then transportation from Rochester International Airport will be provided. Otherwise, you will need to arrange for your own transportation to the campus. Also, we ask that you do not plan to arrive on a Saturday or Sunday, if possible, as most campus facilities, including the Office for International Student Services, will be closed.

Getting to Brockport

Once you have arrived in Rochester, N.Y., you must still travel to Brockport. The SUNY - Brockport campus is located approximately 16 miles (25 km) west of the city of Rochester.

If you have not already made arrangements with the university, the easiest way to get to campus is by taxi. Genesee Airport Taxi  585-266-3333 (taxi stand is located outside of baggage claim at the Rochester airport) offers Brockport students a flat rate of $50 plus a 15 percent tip (US $7 to $8) driving from the airport to campus. Tell the taxi driver that you are a student and you need to go to the State University of New York - Brockport campus and indicate which residence hall or off-campus apartment you are scheduled to live in.  It is also advised to have a printed map of campus to assist in finding your residence hall.
