As you've already seen, Rochester is conveniently located within easy traveling distance to many major U.S. cities and North American destinations. Whether you are planning a day trip or a weekend away, it is important to keep personal safety in mind.
Here are some tips for traveling within the United States. The Office for International Student Services can provide you with additional information as well as information about safety resources at The College of Brockport. Femember, if you have any problems while traveling in the U.S., ask people of authority for advice. In the airports and bus stations of large cities, the Travelers Aid Society can provide some assistance.
Most people in the United States are good, harmless people. However, when you arrive in any U.S. city, you must take precautions so as to not become the victim of crime. Common crimes, such as robbery or assault, are unfortunate aspects of today's society. While certain situations cannot be prevented, there are a few things you can do to protect yourself and your belongings:
