Adding a shared calendar in Microsoft Outlook using the ConnectR
If you open Outlook and then at the top menu select ‘Tools’ → ‘Options…’ and then select the ‘ConnectR’ tab. You will see the following screen:

If you select “Add Shared User…” you will be prompted to enter the user’s NetID (See picture below).

We will enter “helpdesk” in this example for the NetID and select “Verify…”. This ensures you have proper permissions to that user’s calendar. You may receive the following confirmation windows:

If you get the first confirmation that means you have access to add that shared user. If you get the second comfirmation window that means you need to ask the user to give you permission to their calendar by the user going to their options within webmail (Sharing Controls). The third confirmation window means you have already added this user as a shared calendar. The last confirmation window means that this user does not exist and you may have the incorrect NetID entered.
Once verified you just click ‘OK’ and the user will be added to Outlook. If you look at the highlighted area below you will see that tconner has been added and we now need to sync. Please see: “Manually Synchronizing in Microsoft Outlook using the ConnectR Add-in” instructions to learn how to start a synchronization manually.
Please select ‘Apply’ and then ‘OK’as directed by the red arrow in the picture below.

An automatic synchronization will happen frequently, but if you manually start a synchronization you will see the window below. Once the synchronization has completed you will have the user’s calendar stored in Outlook and synchronizing real-time.

The calendar may not appear until you manually go to it (Even if you exit Outlook and re-open it). You can manually open the calendar by going to the Mail tab in Outlook and selecting the “Folder List” icon. You can find this icon in the picture to the left that is highlighted and has the red arrow pointing to it. This allows you to see under All Mail Items everything such as calendar, task, and contact items.
Once you have selected the Folder List icon you will see under “Personal Folders” and then “ConnectR Shared Calendars” calendar items. In this scenario the calendar item is called “Tanasee Conner, tconner” (See picture below). Since that is the calendar we just added we will go ahead and click that calendar item. It will take us to that calendar. You should now be able to see it when you go to the Calendar menu within Outlook.

You have now successfully added a shared calendar to Microsoft Outlook using the Mirapoint ConnectR Add-In!
