Manually Synchronizing in Microsoft Outlook using the ConnectR

If you want to ensure that you have the latest changes reflected on Outlook and the server you can do so by starting a manual synchronization using ConnectR.  Although ConnectR is designed to do real-time synchronization in Outlook for calendar, tasks, and contacts you may find it necessary to do a manual synchronization at times.

To start a manual synchronization open up Microsoft Outlook and then go to ‘Tools’ -> and select “Synchronize Using ConnectR”.    (Please note if this option is not available to choose then ConnectR has most likely been disabled.  Please see the document regarding “Re-enabling the ConnectR Add-in for Microsoft Outlook”.)  You will be prompted with the following window:

You may find that this takes some time if you have a lot of shared calendars.  If you have a very large calendar that will also increase the time for a complete synchronization.  If you select the “Details >>” button it will expand the window and show you more detailed information.

If it errors out it will tell you it did not complete successfully in the Status.  If it does complete successfully you will see the following window (Please note “Synchronization complete” in the Status column):

You have now completed a manual synchronization using ConnectR and have the latest changes of calendar, tasks, and contact items.
