Offerings
Walk-in Support
The ETC will provide expanded walk-in support for faculty, staff and students to address their educational technology needs. Modeled after the on-demand training hours currently provided in CELT, professional staff will be available throughout the day to work with users. Located in proximity to the Help Desk, the ETC will be an extension of the existing support options.
Development Lab
The Development Lab will contain the latest in workstations and technology equipment to support the enhancement of the learning experience through the creation of audio, video, graphics, and web-based content. These facilities will be available for faculty, staff, and students and augment the resources currently available in the Drake Library Learning Commons.
Workshop and Seminar Series
The ETC will offer a wide variety of training workshops that focus on the use of Learning Systems and educational technology. Additionally, the ETC will work to develop seminars and bring guest speakers on campus to discuss and explore the impact of technology on education. Initial workshops may include:
- Audio/Video production and editing
- iMovie, Final Cut Pro, Windows Movie Maker, Garage Band, Audacity, Pinnacle Studio
- Audio/Video posting and distribution
- iTunes U, YouTube, Streaming Media
- Web 2.0 emerging technologies
- Wikis, Blogs, Google Docs, Google Maps
- ANGEL Training for Students
- Research Tools
- Zotero
- Technology and Computing Best Practices
Consulting for Projects
Professional staff will be available to provide guidance to faculty, staff, and students considering projects that utilize educational technology.
Technology User Groups
The ETC will serve as a home for technology user groups including the soon to be launched Mac User’s Group (MUG).

- Location for demoing new software and equipment.

- Review and guidance on technology grants.
- Vendor presentations.
