Mapping a Drive to File City 2 on Your PC
Filecity can be accessed directly from your computer if you are on campus. If you are using a computer off campus, use the Web Interface. Instructions on how to use the Web Interface can be found here.
Mapping a Network Drive on a Windows PC allows you to access your File City drive just like you would your hard drive, CD-ROM drive, Flash drive, etc. Follow these instructions to set up this feature for File City.
1. Go to My Computer.
Click on Tools --> Map Network Drive...
2. In the dialog box, where it says Folder:, type \\filecity.brockport.edu\sharename (where sharename is the name of your department's share folder, given to you by the System Administrator). If you would like to input your user name and password everytime you connect, uncheck the Reconnect at logon checkbox. Otherwise, leave it with the default settings.
Click Finish.
3. Enter your NetID and password (the same as your email).
4. Your File City 2 share should now appear under My Computer.
To add a shortcut to the desktop:
1. Right-click the icon, and then select Create Shortcut.
2. Click Yes to the following question.
There should now be a shortcut to File City 2 on the desktop!
