Information Technology Services"File City" Opens Doors on the WebAccess to your files on your "Home Drive" in the lab machines is now available via the Web. This allows you to access your files from any computer with an Internet connection. You no longer have to be on a computer in one of the labs on campus. The Web site for File City is https://filecity.brockport.edu. You will need JavaScript enabled on your browser in order for the site to work correctly. At the logon screen, enter your SUNY Brockport NetID and password. (These are the same as you would use to login to your e-mail account, Angel or a lab machine.) From here you can view, upload, and delete files from your account. Be sure to log off when you are done using File City. These files are not backed up by Information Technology Services. In the event of a problem, we will be unable to recover any of your files. It is recommended that you make personal backups of all files stored on this system. Here are some frequently asked questions about "My Home Drive" Q: What is a “My Home Drive”?A: Students, faculty, and staff have access to 250mb of data storage while using the lab computing facilities at SUNY Brockport. This service is intended to provide a convenient, temporary, data storage area. Your Home Drive is your own personal space on a file server. No one else can access it unless they log into the network with your NetID and password, so it's more private than simply storing documents on a public lab hard drive. Q: How do I access My Home Drive?A: Whenever you log into the lab PC’s, your home drive is automatically mapped to the drive letter “Z”. In the labs, you can access this drive using “My Computer” or by using the desktop shortcut.
