File City

Mapping a Drive to File City on Your PC

Filecity can be accessed directly from your computer if you are on campus. If you are using a computer off campus, use the Web Interface. Instructions on how to use the Web Interface can be found here.

Mapping a Network Drive on a Windows PC allows you to access your File City drive just like you would your hard drive, CD-ROM drive, Flash drive, etc. Follow these instructions to set up this feature for File City.

1. Go to "My Computer".

Click on "Tools" --> "Map Network Drive..."

2. In the dialog box, where it says "Folder:", type "\\filecity.brockport.edu\home" (without quotes). If you would like to input your user name and password everytime you connect, uncheck the "Reconnect at logon" checkbox. Otherwise, leave it with the default settings.

Click "Finish".

3. Enter your NetID and password (the same as your email).

4. Your File City Home directory should now appear under "My Computer".

To add a shortcut to the desktop:

1.

2. Click "Yes" to this question.

There should now be a shortcut to File City on the desktop!
