Spouses and Children
If your spouse and children will travel to the U.S. with you or join you later, you need to make specific arrangements for their visas, as well as for living arrangements. In order to obtain an I-20 form for family travel, you must show us that you have sufficient additional funds to cover their living expenses and their medical insurance.
If you are not able to make arrangements for housing prior to your arrival, you may want to consider coming to The College at Brockport several weeks before your family. This should give you time to secure adequate family housing. "On-campus" housing is not available for families. If it is not possible for your children and spouse to travel separately, you should expect to stay in a hotel for at least one week at a cost of at least $75 per day.
If you have school-age children (age 5 and older), you will want to have them here prior to the beginning of the school year, which is usually a day or two after the first Monday in September (Labor Day).
