Leadership Development Program
"Today's achievers, tomorrow's leaders."
Today's society demands leadership and excellence in all vocations. Initiative, creativity, and an understanding of human needs are qualities essential to achieving success. Leadership Development is built on the premise that, in addition to achieving academic excellence, students must have co-curricular opportunities as well. The College believes that these programs must also help students to develop characteristics associated with productive, ethical and successful leaders. Leadership Development at SUNY Brockport prepares students for leadership roles and academic success. Students are invited to take advantage of this unique and exciting program.
Successful, and most importantly, effective leaders have both theoretical and practical leadership experience. To assist students with this process, SUNY Brockport provides a variety of conferences, seminars, workshops, and courses to better prepare students to become effective leaders. These opportunities encourage students to think critically, to enhance leadership potential, and to improve leadership competence.
Leadership Development focuses on providing an environment that reduces cultural-social isolation; fosters student leadership; stresses self-esteem and awareness; enhances exposure to role models and professional careers; and nurtures students academic achievement.
