Mandatory Session for All Green Certificate Students - What is Leadership? Kim Bilinski, Coordinator of Townhomes and Leadership Development
Attend this workshop to learn more about the student leadership program at the College at Brockport. What qualities do you think make "a leader?" Who is a leader? This workshop will challenge you to consider your own concept of leadership while outline the year ahead and requirements of the program.

Diversity with Dr. Don Halquist; Assistant Professor of Education and Human Development
While race is often perceived as the most salient aspect of diversity, it is not the only signifier. During this interactive session, we will explore how recognition of other aspects of diversity including religion, socioeconomic class, (dis)ability, first language, gender, and sexual orientation can combine to create inclusive communities in which no member is disenfranchised. Together, we will consider what this broader definition means for our work as citizens and leaders in the twenty-first century.

Discovering Your Direction with Monique Rew; Residence Director
At this session, you will have the opportunity to describe your own ethical foundation and explore how ethics plays a major part in personal and professional lives. This workshop will help you to see how your own values, life experience and perspective affect your ethical principles, how you feel about and approach others and how to develop these elements throughout your personal and professional lives in a positive and healthy manner.

Making the Right Choice with Dave Bagley; Associate Director of Residential Life/Learning Communities
Life as a student leader can be truly an outstanding opportunity but not without challenge. You ultimately will be faced with a difficult, ethical decision at some point in your leadership experience. How will this decision affect you? What type of impact can a poor choice have on your ability to lead? How will you be perceived? Come to this interactive presentation to answer these questions and learn more about the everyday choices that you will be faced with in your respective role.

Understanding others is the key to leading them. Emotional IQ can be more important than IQ. How well do you understand your emotions and the emotions of those around you? This workshop focuses on key skills for understanding emotions and putting them to work as a leader.

Personal Branding with Josh Fegley; Assistant Director of the Health Center
This session will explore the five questions that will help you develop a personal brand that demonstrates congruence between your values, attitudes, and behaviors. Strategies to enhance and maintain your personal brand, both in the real and digital worlds, will be explored as well as how to use your personal brand to achieve goals, build community, and lead others.

Personality Type and Leadership with Phyllis Griswold, Career Counselor**
An essential part of leadership is not only understanding ourselves, but understanding those we are expected to lead. This workshop utilizes the Career Personality portion of MyPlan, an on-line career assessment based on the Myers Briggs Type Indicator. Participants will complete the assessment and will learn about their own personality style, and how to apply this information as part of their leadership development.

**(Completion of the Career Personality portion of MyPlan prior to the workshop is mandatory for participation in the session.)
Steps to use MyPlan Assessments
1.     Go to The College at Brockport’s Career Services website: http://www.brockport.edu/career
2.     On the main page you will see four rectangles. Click on the green rectangle that says “MyPlan.com
3.     Scroll down to the MyPlan section of this page and “Click here to use MyPlan
4.     Click on “Create Free Account” to register.  Use your Brockport email address as your username (alumni use your current email address) and any password you would like.
5.     Fill in the required information on the registration form.
6.     When asked for the license code, enter: J6HWPF5L.
7.     Keep the box checked that says “Share results with career advisor?” This will allow Career Services advisors to review your results and better assist you with your choices.
8.     One you have completed registering, a confirmation email will be sent to you. Click on the link in the email to activate your account
9.     You can then login and begin with the Assessments tab.  Complete ONLY the Career Personality portion of MyPlan, an on-line career assessment based on the Myers Briggs Type Indicator.  PRINT out the assessment and bring it to the workshop!

Playing the Game: Individual vs. Group Values with Anna Barone; Student Conduct Coordinator and Matt Barone, Assistant Director of Campus Life
Escape with us to a deserted island as we discover who we are, as individuals, and how your personal values play out when working together to survive. Your values do not mean much until you put them into action so come take a stand with us to see what is really important to you and how your choices affect the lives of others.

We all know "positive people." Many of us enjoy being around positive people. In this session, you will discover the way that positive people deal with ordinary life challenges in extraordinary ways. You will also be given tools that may help you determine just how positive you are.

How do you know when you are successful in accomplishing something? Goals are specific, measurable, time targeted objectives. In English, this means that goals help you create a specific plan of action. In this workshop you will learn how to use goal setting in your pursuit of academic, personal and career success.
