Leadership Development Program

Complete application packets should be submitted online through Angel by February 10, 2012 at 4pm

Criteria

1. Undergraduate student with a minimum 3.00 cumulative grade point average
2. 54 completed credit hours at the end of the Fall 2011 semester
3. Record of exemplary leadership, scholastic achievement and a commitment to the college through leadership in an organization and/or campus employment
4. The student is currently serving in an elected or appointed position (s) of leadership in a College at Brockport recognized club, organization or on a campus-wide committee. In the position/ s the student:
1. Has excelled in the normal responsibilities as defined for the position(s) held or
2. Has shown extraordinary leadership beyond the normal responsibilities defined for the positions held.
3. Has been a leader of students involved in campus-related services or other activities (other than those listed above), which have been of significant benefit to the College and/or Brockport community.

Application packet checklist

1. All applications should include a cover sheet that includes the following information:
1. Name
2. Banner #
3. Campus/Local Address and Phone
4. E-Mail
5. Academic Major
6. Class year, Credits Earned and Cumulative GPA
2. Current resume/vita
3. Separate listing of any elected or appointed leadership positions held on campus and/or in community organizations/activities.
4. An essay, of no more than two typewritten pages, including how you have demonstrated exemplary leadership characteristics and a commitment to the college through leadership in a student organization and/or student employment. Please emphasize where your accomplishments have been extraordinary.
5. At least two and no more than three letters of recommendations.

Selection Process
Applicants must submit an application packet, via Angel. Please refer to the checklist above. All application materials must be typed.

A selection committee will review all completed applications and determine those individuals who will be invited to interview with the committee. Interviews will occur during the week of February 13, 2012.

The person selected to receive this award will be expected to accept the award at the Honors and Awards Ceremony on April 20, 2012 and give brief remarks at the Student Leadership Awards Ceremony on April 23, 2012
