 Ms. Nancy Vander Molen received her undergraduate degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation and her Masters Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis in health care from the State University of New York at Brockport. Ms. Vander Molen’s career roles have included recreation therapist, therapeutic recreation coordinator, director, administrator and educator. Health care settings that she has worked in include mental health services, brain injury rehabilitation, drug and alcohol addiction, and long term care. Ms. Vander Molen has been a mentor for Empire State College where she developed a Therapeutic Recreation curriculum that qualified students to sit for the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification exam. Her passion for Therapeutic Recreation and cultural experiences took her to New Zealand where she assisted in the development of a Therapeutic Recreation educational program. After teaching as an adjunct faculty at SUNY Brockport for 10 years, she has joined the Recreation and Leisure Studies program full-time in 2004.
