Find Books in Drake

The Library catalog is an database of the library's holdings. In the Catalog, you can:

  • Find if the library has a book in which you're interested
    • by Author
    • by Title
    • by Subject
  • Find books on a smiliar topic
  • Find out when a book is due back, or if the book is currently on the shelf
The tutorial below will walk you through searching the catalog, locating book a book and then how to interpret the call number.

 

Find Books Using the Catalog

Starting with the tabbed box Books on the library home page, enter your search term and click Search.

Using Aquabrowser, you can refine your search in the right-hand column by Type, Topic, Person, Subject, Region, Time Period, Publication Date, Author, Language or User Tags.

For more information or to check availability click on the title of the work or click Check Availability.

Scroll down on this page for more information about the book.

When the call number is printed on the spine of the book, it will look like the following:

Now, head to the location specified in the “Collection” column and then use the call number to locate the book. If you need, here is a map of the library.
