Accessing Exchange calendar and email at home or on the road via Outlook Web App

You can access your Exchange calendar and email at home or any time you are away from the office.

When you are at home or traveling, you can access your Exchange calendar and email. You can log in to Outlook Web App (OWA) or you can use an Exchange client like Outlook.

Outlook Web App

Outlook Web App (OWA) is available at https://email.brockport.edu and offers the same core features as are available in Outlook, including mail, calendar, contacts, tasks, shared calendars, vacation automatic replies, safe sender lists, checking your Exchange quota, and more. OWA works in all modern browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome on Windows and Firefox, Safari on Mac OS X. You should consider using OWA to access your Exchange calendar and email, rather than an Exchange client like Outlook.

Logging into Outlook Web App

For security purposes, each time you access Exchange you will be prompted for your credentials. Enter your information in the following format:

When logging into Outlook Web App, the login page allows you to select whether you are at a Public or Private Computer. The selection of this option will impact your experience when logged in. Select the appropriate option based on the information below:

Mobile Users (Laptops)

If you have a laptop and move between on campus and off campus, you will continue to have access to Exchange regardless of your location.

Outlook 2007 & Outlook 2010

Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010 will automatically detect appropriate settings based on your location. This feature, known as Outlook Anywhere, ensures that Outlook is always configured for your location. Regardless of whether you are on campus or off campus, you will have access to your Exchange calendar, email, Global Address List (GAL), and other Exchange features.

Mac Mail.app, iCal

Mac Mail/iCal allow you to access your Exchange calendar and email from off campus. Regardless of whether you are on campus or off campus, you will have access to your Exchange calendar, email, Global Address List (GAL), and other Exchange features.
