Updating Your Exchange Credentials on OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard)

OS X 10.6

Overview

When you change your NetID password, you also need to update the passwords saved for Mail, iCal, and Address Book. You will need to open each application and update the password there.

NOTE

If you have OS X 10.7 (Lion) or 10.8 (Mountain Lion), you should instead use this procedure: Updating Your Exchange Credentials on OS X 10.7 (Lion) and 10.8 (Mountain Lion)

Procedure

Mail

1) Run the Mail application.

2) Select “Preferences…” from the “Mail” menu, and check to be sure that the calendar refreshes using the new password:

3) Click on the “Accounts” icon at the top of the window, select the Exchange account from the list on the left, and update your password:

4) Close the preferences window, and click the “Save” button when asked.

5) Check mail to be sure that the new password is working.

6) Quit Mail.

iCal

7) Run iCal.

8) Select “Preferences…” from the 'iCal” menu:

9) Click on the “Accounts” icon at the top of the window, select the Exchange account from the list on the left, and update your password:

10) Close the Preferences window.

11) Select “Refresh All” from the “Calendar” menu:

12) Quit iCal.

Address Book

13) Run Address Book.

14) Select “Preferences…” from the “Address Book” menu:

15) Click on the “Accounts” icon at the top of the window, select the Exchange account from the list on the left, and update your password:

16) Close the Preferences window.

17) Click on “Brockport Exchange” under “All Directories” in the Groups section of Address Book:

18) Using the search field at the top right of the Adrress Book window, search for someone at Brockport, to be sure that the new password is working.

19) Quit Address Book.
