Kaltura MediaSpace

What is Kaltura MediaSpace?

Kaltura MediaSpace is a video content management portal that allows faculty and staff to manage their lecture capture and other video content. The portal also allows users to upload video content and have it optimized for playback on numerous devices and within the ANGEL Learning Management System. The video content is private and only available to Brockport faculty, staff, and students unless you decide to share it. This makes the system similar to ANGEL in the way that course content is only available to designated individuals.

The main features within Kaltura MediaSpace are:

  • Review lecture capture content from Camtasia Relay
  • Upload audio and video content
  • Create webcam or screen recordings
  • Create video playlists that can be added to ANGEL
  • Add closed captioning
  • Share content
  • Delete unwanted/out-dated content

How do I access Kaltura MediaSpace?

Who can use Kaltura MediaSpace?

  • Faculty & Staff: During the initial roll-out of Kaltura, faculty & staff have access to login, upload content, manage recordings, and add them to ANGEL.
  • Students: Student access to Kaltura will be implemented in a later phase and integrated with Blackboard as the College transitions to that system during the 2014-2015 academic year.
