New Student Information

First Steps for Library, Information & Technology Services

Before you get to Brockport, be sure to:

  1. Read information about your Accounts at Brockport: Banner, NetID, Email, ANGEL, FileCity
    • Information to access your account is on the logon page.
    • You will be required to change your PIN on your first visit.
    • Click on “Personal Information” and then “SUNY Brockport NetID Information and Password Reset” to display your NetID.
  2. Change your password using the button on that page.
    • This is required every 6 months as part of our policy.
  3. Activate your Activate your Google Apps account to use GMail.

How do I reset my password?

There are two ways of resetting your password depending on the credentials that you know. How do I submit a help ticket?

Do I need to buy a specific type of computer?

No, almost all computers and tablets are supported on our network. For our recommendations, look here: Minimum Requirements

Does Brockport have wireless internet?

Yes, all dorms, administrative, and academic buildings have wireless internet! You can even print from your laptop over the wireless network.

Do I need to purchase a printer for my dorm room?

It is not necessary because Brockport has labs all over campus with printers, but it is highly recommended.

Does Brockport have a printing policy?

Yes, we allow students to print 300 double-sided pages, or 450 single-sided pages per semester for free.

Are computer discounts available to Brockport Students?

Yes, but Technology Support Services would advise that you always look at advertised deals.

What software is supported and does Brockport offer discounts for this supported software?
