Student Spotlight

Ben Schlimmer

How and why did you start working for TSS?

I started working for TSS in the spring 2011 semester. I worked for the information technology department at a community college before transferring to Brockport. I highly enjoyed the work there so I decided to apply for an opening at the MetroCenter to continuing gaining experience in the field.

What are one or two memorable experiences you had while working for TSS?

Manning the phones under high call volume is always fun! The most memorable experience I have had working for TSS is the constant information gathering and learning aspect of the job. No matter how long you have been working, every day a client throws you a curveball, testing your ability to adapt and provide a quick and timely solution to their problem.

What are your future goals, whether TSS related or not?

After completing my Computer Science degree, I definitely plan on putting my skills learned at TSS to use, in the IT field, or perhaps in software development.

What does being the Student Spotlight mean to you?

It’s a great honor to be included in the Student Spotlight! Several friends and coworkers that I highly respect have been included, who definitely deserved recognition for all the hard work they have done. It is humbling to be counted as one of them.
