Teachers of Tomorrow

Teachers of Tomorrow is designed for freshmen and transfer students with less than 25 credits who are interested in a career in education.

In a residence hall atmosphere that is focused on achievement and success, you will have frequent interactions with faculty and staff, as well as opportunities to share experiences with other education majors.

Teachers of Tomorrow will help you graduate on time through career exploration and advisement. You'll also have the opportunity to practice your teaching skills.

These students collected school supplies during opening weekend to send to schools in developing countries.

Faculty partners are essential to all Living Learning Communities. In Teachers of Tomorrow, our faculty have committed to monthly "Teacher Topics" dinners. The first allowed students to meet and greet their future faculty.

Other topics will include No Child Left Behind and Bilingual Classroom Education.

Field experience is essential to becoming a good teacher. As a member of the Teachers of Tomorrow House, students will be able to gain hands-on experience. In developing a network of fellow students and faculty/staff in the field, members of this living learning community will be better prepared to enter and complete the Childhood Education program.

Students have shaped the goals of this community, and have developed partnerships with after-school programs and community centers in the area.
