Yellow Ribbon

The Yellow Ribbon LLC is for first-year, returning and transfer students. This LLC in Mortimer Hall is the home of veterans of the United States Military and family members of servicemen and servicewomen currently active in the military. Various enriching events will be offered, some of which will focus on professional development, acclimation to college life, and connections with local veterans events and support systems.
Activities and Field Trips Include:
  • Resume Building
  • community service opportunities
  • Transitional support
  • Tutoring
  • Local Veterans events
  • Adventure Challenges (high ropes course, laser tag, etc.)

"Transitioning from combat to college is a unique and challenging experience. Veterans and military families understand the real cost of freedom, and how truly precious and rare it is. Bringing this understanding, sense of maturity, and life experiences into a collegiate environment is a unique battle in the sense that one may often feel they are alone in fighting it. However, networking and living beside others who share similar experiences, values, or points of view regarding our great nation's armed forces will help define your time at Brockport by the standards of excellence and camaraderie that we find among America's warriors."

~Brandon Nunnery, USMC, Class of 2013

Encouraged to Apply: First year, Upperclass and Transfer students who are Veterans of the United States Military and/or are family members of a Serviceperson currently active in the United States Military who are looking for a support system at Brockport and within the local community.
