Kulathur Rajasethupathy, Ph.D.
Professor and Director of MA Liberal Studies
Given its multidisciplinary nature, Liberal Studies has no faculty who are exclusively assigned to its program. Rather, it draws upon the best faculty from across The College at Brockport curriculum (and elsewhere) to teach its required courses. Over the years, Liberal Studies instructors have come from diverse programs such as African and African-American Studies, Anthropology, Biology, Computational Science, Computer Science, Earth Sciences, Education and Human Development, English, Foreign Languages and Literatures, History, Philosophy, Political Science and International Studies, Psychology, Theatre, and Women and Gender Studies.
Some are Distinguished Teaching Professors, the highest academic rank
attainable at SUNY. Many are recipients of the Chancellor's Award for
Excellence in Teaching, a SUNY-wide recognition for outstanding instruction. Others hold (or have held) high administrative positions,
such as department chair, dean, or associate dean. All are experts in
their disciplines, yet truly capable of teaching from the multidisciplinary
perspective that is the hallmark of a graduate Liberal Studies education
at The College at Brockport.
