| Our Mission | |||
The mission of the Ronald E McNair Post-baccalaureate Program at SUNY College at Brockport is to provide disadvantaged undergraduate college students with preparation for doctoral study. To that end, we provide academic, financial, and social support that encourages and trains our McNair Scholars to successfully enter graduate school and achieve their academic goals. |
|||
| Our Goal | |||
The primary goal of the Ronald E McNair Post-baccalaureate Program at SUNY College at Brockport is to increase the number of low-income, first generation or underrepresented students who earn graduate degrees and enter the professoriate. The secondary goal of our program is to provide the information and encouragement necessary for each McNair Scholar to feel confident in their ability to enter graduate school and successfully complete a Master’s and Doctoral Program. |
|||
| Eligibility | |||
You are eligible if you are low-income (perhaps receiving a Pell grant) and neither of your parents have completed a bachelor's degree, or if you are black (non-Hispanic), Hispanic, or American-Indian/Alaskan-Native. The program is funded by a US Department of Education grant. |
