SUNY Brockport- and GRC-MSW-issued ID cards are required each time you enter the facility and must be produced upon request. ID photos are taken at the MetroCenter in Room 347 on the third floor. The hours of operation will be posted on the door.
Stolen ID’s are replaced free with a police report (the fee is $25 without a report). Checks payable to: BASC. Please have your Banner number available.
There are several ways you can purchase your books for your off-campus courses: Pick your books up at the main campus bookstore, call or e-mail the bookstore to order the books Visit the SUNY Brockport Barnes & Noble College Bookstore, or call (585) 395-2554 for more information.
In addition, MetroCenter students may visit Drake Memorial Library, located on the SUNY Brockport campus, or access its online resources through remote log-in via the Internet. Please note that due to licensing agreements, not all computer databases may be accessed from off-campus locations.
Computers are available to students, with valid SUNY Brockport ID, to students throughout the MetroCenter. Two computer classrooms are also available for instructional use. No food or drink are allowed when working on the computers. Click here to see the computer use hours.
Additional computer labs are available in Dailey Hall on the SUNY Brockport campus. Visit the Information Technology Services Web site for information on campus computer lab hours, student e-mail accounts, and other informational hyperlinks.
Students may request copies at the MetroCenter 3rd floor administrative office for 10 cents per paper copy and 50 cents per overhead transparency. Faxes cost $1 per page local; $2 per page long-distance.
Audiovisual and computer equipment may be reserved for class use through the office or your faculty member at least one week in advance. The following equipment is available for student use: SmartCarts, flip charts, LCD projector (for Powerpoint presentations), full computer on cart, camcorder, tripod, TV and VCR, DVD player, slide projector, audio tape player, and overhead projector with a portable screen. Students and faculty are required to request equipment with at least one-week notice. This allows MetroCenter staff to process the request, and verify that equipment is available and functional. SUNY MetroCenter students are informed of campus activities and announcements in many ways. The SUNY Brockport student newspaper, The Stylus, and the Commuter Scoop, are delivered to the MetroCenter weekly. In addition, many academic programs circulate their own departmental newsletters. Other areas that are continually updated include the SUNY Brockport MetroCenter bulletin boards, and both the SUNY Brockport home page and this site, the SUNY Brockport MetroCenter home page.
If you need career service information at the SUNY Brockport MetroCenter, check out the Career Service bulletin board. The bulletin board will help you find current information on career and internship opportunities, upcoming recruiters, and workshop and volunteer announcements. Career Services offers a JobShop online database, career resources, interviewing tips, and links to other employment services. A few important financial aid tips to remember are to meet all scheduled deadlines, renew all forms every year and explore all sources of funding, including federal, state, and local grants, loans and scholarships. The Financial Aid Office links you to the required applications for financial aid and provides the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. For assistance in finding scholarships and grants, visit the Student Aid Resource (STAR) Center at the Financial Aid Office at SUNY Brockport. You can also call the Financial Aid Office at (585) 395-2501 to set up an appointment with a financial aid advisor as well as contact the MetroCenter Graduate Assistant for financial aid information.
Security staff is assigned to patrol throughout and outside
of the building. Security staff will check any persons entering the SUNY
Brockport MetroCenter for an ID. You must show our SUNY ID card upon request.
In addition, you may ask security for an escort to walk you to your car
within one block of the building.
There are vending machines located in the student lounge area on the 3rd floor of the MetroCenter.
