If you have Office 2003 at home and will not be upgrading to Office 2007…
Be careful when saving a Word file at the MetroCenter or on campus. The default for saving a Word file in Office 2007 is to save the Word file as a Word 2007 file. The 2007 files will not open in Word 2003 without a compatibility file which you can download from Microsoft here.
If you choose to not download the compatibility file, then when you are saving a Word file at the MetroCenter just use the option to save the Word file as “Word 97-2003 Document”.
The reverse is not true, however. You CAN open a 2003 Word file in Word 2007 with no problem.
