J. Emory Morris Challenge

Chemistry student looks through microscopeHow many times in the last week have you thought about the science of chemistry?

But when you do actually stop to think about chemistry the impact the science has on our everyday lives quickly becomes apparent.

Chemistry, known as the central science, is essential to the development of life-saving pharmaceuticals, advances in agriculture and food production, renewable energy sources, safer plastics and more.

The College at Brockport has a proud tradition of turning out scientists who work at the forefront of chemistry, solving the most pressing problems of the 21st century.

Professor Emeritus Emory Morris has challenged the Brockport community to help fund that tradition for years to come.

Through The Morris Challenge, Professor Morris will match all donations to the Undergraduate Research Fellowships in Chemistry or the Morris Chemistry Research Challenge Fund up to $100,000.  When you make a gift to either program, your dollars are doubled in value, providing even more opportunities for promising students.

How to Give

To date, we've raised $73,000 in support of the Morris Challenge.

Won't you please help us reach our goal and create valuable research opportunities in
chemistry for our students? You can see a list of donors to the challenge here.
