About the Program

The music program at The College at Brockport is committed to student scholarly and music performance success. The College’s music minor provides a range of academic courses that challenge students in music theory, history, piano or voice study, world music, ethnomusicology and folklore. Linked with the arts for children program, the music specialty also offers students the option of a bachelor’s degree that concentrates in music.

A wide variety of music ensembles provide ample performance opportunities throughout the semester. Students at the College will be able to continue their instrumental or vocal performance for credit through the College-Community Orchestra, Brockport Chorus, Gospel Choir, Saxophone, Clarinet, and Xylophone Ensembles, as well as through extracurricular music ensembles.

The music program at The College at Brockport provides…

  • A friendly collegial atmosphere that promotes a love of music
  • Enjoyable and dynamic performances for the College and its community
