WRITERS FORUM READING SERIES continues
Wednesday, March 26
Derek Nikitas, Rochester, NY, native and novelist, has published stories in The Ontario Review, Chelsea, Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine, The Pedestal Magazine and the recent St. Martin’s short story anthology, Killer Year: Stories to Die For. His novel Pyres is a 2008 Edgar Award nominee for “Best First Novel by an American Author.” He was raised in Rochester, NY, and earned his undergraduate degree in English from The College at Brockport. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Creative Writing from Georgia State University.

RPO Marimba Band
The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra’s Marimba Band continues a half-century of tradition. Specializing in music written and arranged for melodic percussion instruments, the RPO Marimba Band features ragtime xylophone pieces and novelty music from the early decades of the 20th century.

Dancing at Lughnasa, by Brian Friel
Time is both idyllic and tarnished in this memory play, set in Ireland in the late 1930s. As guided by Michael, son to one of a houseful of women, the audience is able to get a glimpse at the fragile nature of their existence, both physical and emotional.
