The College at Brockport acknowledged the generous support of many alumni, faculty and community members at the second annual President’s Donor Recognition Dinner, April 25. The event’s theme, celebrating philanthropy, set the tone for an evening of heartfelt celebration and gratitude.
Fresh flowers and trees transformed the Seymour College Union Ballroom into an Enchanted Garden and music provided by the Masterbrass Jazz Ensemble and harpist Cathleen Gurnett enhanced the mood, while guests enjoyed an excellent dinner prepared by the Brockport Campus Auxiliary Service Corporation (BASC). In recognition of National Arbor Day (April 25), each place setting included a Colorado Blue Spruce sapling organizers hope will soon take root in area yards.
Following dinner, new members were inducted into the various giving circles, including the Hiel Brockway Circle, the Ernest C. Hartwell Circle, the Donald M. Tower Circle, the Robert E. O’Brien Circle, and the Marguerite Hare Browne Circle. In addition to honorees, the event also was attended by esteemed community members including representatives from Brockport Student Government, Eastman Kodak Company, the College deans, as well as current New York State Senators George Maziarz and Joseph Robach ’80/’82, with total attendance of approximately 160.
The accompanying selection of photographs offers highlights of this special evening. Additional information about specific honorees will be available on the Brockport Foundation website soon.
