BROCKPORT, NY -- David Mihalyov has been named as executive director of public relations at The College at Brockport. He will be responsible for all internal and external communications activities and be the spokesperson for the College. He also will oversee the operations of the College’s Departments of Marketing Communications and Design and Production.

“We’re delighted to have David Mihalyov join the Division of Advancement as executive director of public relations. He brings a wide range of experiences that will take the College’s communications efforts to the next level,” said Roxanne Johnston, vice president of advancement at The College at Brockport.

Prior to coming to the College, Mihalyov was communications manager at PAETEC, where he was responsible for a range of communications duties, including securing national and regional media coverage, writing the corporate annual report, PAETEC’s weekly electronic newsletter, CEO communications, Web content and other employee and marketing materials.

He was a public relations and communications specialist for Frontier Communications and Global Crossing. He also had served as a copy editor for Gannett Rochester Newspapers.

Mihalyov earned his BS in communication in 1987 and master’s in English in 2003 from The College at Brockport. He is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Rochester Press-Radio Club, and serves on the Board for the Rochester Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Additional Division of Advancement Appointments
Darby Knox, who served as the interim executive director of public relations since January, where she was instrumental in the development of the College’s brand and brand implementation, began her new assignment as director of the College's comprehensive campaign August 1.

Knox will be the comprehensive campaign’s chief operating officer responsible for planning, volunteer management, communications, special events, policy and systems development, budgeting, and developing strategies to solicit major gifts. She will serve as a fund raiser for the College.

Prior to joining the College, Knox was senior consultant with Cognitive Marketing in Rochester, NY. She is a graduate of Keuka College.

Mike Andriatch, currently the executive director of alumni relations and major projects, has been named the director of leadership giving. In his new role, Andriatch will be focused on building philanthropic relationships with donor prospects and benefactors with the primary goal of securing significant private support to advance the College’s mission. A 1985 graduate of the College, Andriatch will coordinate leadership and planned giving functions for the Division of Advancement.

Andriatch has been with The College at Brockport for nearly 23 years, serving as sports information director (1985-2001), special projects coordinator (2001-02), director of alumni relations and the annual fund (2002-04), director of alumni relations and major projects (2004-05), director of planned gifts and alumni relations (2005-06), and in his current role as executive director of alumni relations and major projects.
