The College at Brockport Welcomes Alumni, Friends, and the Community for Homecoming Weekend
Students participate in The College at Brockport's Homecoming Parade.
Brockport, NY — The College at Brockport, State University of New York, celebrated its annual Homecoming Weekend as students, family, alumni, emeriti, and the community attended a wide range of events on the College campus throughout the weekend.
Highlights of the weekend included:
Several events to honor the Class of 1958, who celebrated its 50th reunion.
A parade through main Street in Brockport that traveled through the campus, ending at the football stadium.
A visit from 2004 U.S. Olympic gymnast Carly Patterson, who visited with the Brockport community.
Brockport taking on Rowan University in football. The Golden Eagles fell, 37-20.
College President John R. Halstead, PhD, 1958 class president Joe Borrish, and other Class of ’58 alumni planted a ceremonial tree on Alumni Walk. Dr. Halstead and representatives from the Class of 2008 also planted a ceremonial tree.
Events still to come:
Sunday, October 5
• 5K Run/Walk & Roll Race — Special Olympics Stadium, 10 am
Registration begins at 9 am. Proceeds from the race will go to The College at Brockport Student Emergency Loan Fund.
• Open Skate — Tuttle North Ice Arena, 3 – 4:50 pm
Cost: $5 adults, $3 youth, students free with valid College at Brockport ID. There is an additional $3 for skate rental.
