College Historian to Edit Gender/Race Book Series
Allison Parker, PhD, associate professor of history at The College at Brockport, State University of New York, has been named co-editor of a new University of Rochester Press book series, "Gender and Race in American History."
Parker and co-editor Carol Faulkner, associate professor of history at Syracuse University, intend to publish manuscripts that focus on the intersections between gender and race in nineteenth and twentieth-century American history. They also invite manuscripts that have transnational or global perspectives on American history.
The editors will consider projects that include different titles and formats, ranging from monographs to edited volumes representing diverse authors and points of view. They also will consider proposals from those hoping to publish their first book, as well as from established scholars.
Parker, a College at Brockport faculty member since 2000, is the author of Purifying America: Women, Reform, and Pro-Censorship Activism, 1873-1933 (University of Illinois, 1997).
