Brockport, NY – The College at Brockport, State University of New York, was ranked for the second consecutive year among Kiplinger's “100 Best Values in Public Colleges,” a list that ranks schools based on a combination of top-flight academics and affordable costs.
For in-state students, The College at Brockport came in 82nd on the list that included a total of 11 SUNY institutions. For out-of-state students, the College ranked at number 52.
“We’re proud that Kiplinger’s again recognized the outstanding value and quality of each student’s educational experience at The College at Brockport,” said College President John R. Halstead, PhD. “For those students and parents living within or outside New York, in these tough economic times it’s vital that student success can be achieved at an extremely affordable price.”
“Access to a high-quality affordable education has never been more important,” said SUNY Interim Chancellor Dr. John B. Clark. “SUNY campus presidents, their students, faculty, and staff are to be commended for achieving national recognition.”
According to Kiplinger’s Web site, “Kiplinger's bases its college rankings on a combination of outstanding academic quality and an affordable price tag. In our scoring system, academic quality carries more weight than costs (almost two-thirds of the total).”
