Brockport, NY — Amanda Pickard, a senior from The College at Brockport, State University of New York, was voted Rochester Area College Athletics (RACA) Field Hockey Player of the Year. Pickard led the Golden Eagles with 16 goals and 40 points during the season, while setting numerous school records.
The award is the latest in a series of honors earned by Pickard. In November, she was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-America Third Team and is a NFHCA First-Team All-Region honoree — the first athlete to receive this recognition in the history of the College. Pickard also was recognized by the East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) as First-Team Fall Athlete of the Year and was named Player of the Year by the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) for two consecutive years.
"Amanda has accomplished some amazing feats during her athletic career, things which no other Brockport field hockey player has ever done," said Lin Case, director of athletics. "Her hard work and dedication have meant a great deal to our program. I know Coach Zurlo has a difficult job in trying to replace her next year."
Pickard is from Depew, NY. Read more about Amanda Pickard.
