BROCKPORT, NY – Michael Doyle, regional vice president of Entercom Communications Corp., continued the Spring ’09 College at Brockport, State University of New York’s Business Briefings Speakers Series. The subject of Doyle’s talk was “Today’s Radio: Using Social Marketing to Create Successful Local Ad Campaigns.”
More than 50 local business leaders attended the event, which was held in the Grand Atrium of The College at Brockport MetroCenter, 55 St Paul St.
Doyle highlighted the many ways that consumers’ media habits are changing, such as Internet audio streaming, watching television online, and satellite radio. The key for advertisers, according to Doyle, is not necessarily the medium, but measuring the return on their investment. The industry has moved from ratings equating revenue to results equating revenue.
Doyle, a 1980 graduate of the College, has been professionally involved in the radio industry for 23 years since his days at Brockport’s student radio station, WBSU. During his presentation he also discussed the ways that interactive media can be used to benefit both consumers and advertisers.
The College at Brockport Business Briefings Series, hosted by College President John R. Halstead, was established to build a network among leaders from Western New York, Greater Rochester and The College at Brockport to discuss issues, challenges and opportunities facing the region.
Business Briefings will welcome Ali M. Zoibi, President and Publisher of the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, on Thursday, April 23.
