The College at Brockport, State University of New York, hosted a leadership conference on the College’s campus, Sunday, April 19. More than 250 students attended the day-long conference, “Leaders of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow, Time to Lead!” College administration and Brockport Student Government collaborated on the effort, which is part of a greater campuswide leadership program.
“The conference was targeted toward new or returning student leaders, helping them to broaden their definition of student leadership through a series of workshops,” said Leah Barrett, assistant vice president for student affairs. “One of our goals is to help our students become more effective leaders, bridging the gap between leadership on campus and in the Greater Rochester community.”
The conference workshops were led by College at Brockport students, faculty and staff, and included subjects such as ethics, balancing leadership roles and academic life, leadership style, diversity, and effective communication. Jonathon Sprinkles, a motivational speaker, delivered the keynote address.
