Vincent Carbone presents his drama about the life of Edgar Allen Poe.
Brockport, NY— The tumultuous life of Edgar Allen Poe comes to life at The College at Brockport on Thursday, October 15, 2009. Fancy Me Mad will appear in the Black Box Theatre, located in the Tower Fine Arts Center, Holley Street, at 5:30 pm. Admission is free.
Fancy Me Mad is a stage production written, produced, and directed by College at Brockport Department of Theater student Vincent J. Carbone. Carbone worked on this Edgar Allen Poe creation for more than two years. Mad is Carbone’s Senior Project; a requirement for his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre. Mad highlights the “love, loss and mystery of a man whose life is so often hauntingly reflected in his work,” said Carbone.
Mad features performances by College at Brockport students Rachael Yoder, Lindsey Rearic, Callie Jean Slusser, Kate Derry, and Chet Brassie.
Besides developing his play, Carbone has been acting and directing for several years. He has portrayed the likes of Sonny in Grease and Lucky in Waiting for Godot. Behind the scenes, he has directed such works as K2, Bird Bath, and Dog Sees God. Later this year, audiences can catch Carbone acting in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum on The College at Brockport’s Tower Fine Arts Center Mainstage.
