Brockport, NY—The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at The College at Brockport invites the community to attend a performance by the Théâtre de la Chandelle verte, entitled "letters de femmes," at 7 pm on Saturday, November 14, in the Seymour College Union Ballroom, Residence Drive, Brockport.
“Women who write live dangerously. Beginning at a time when the ‘fairer sex’ was barely permitted to read, let alone write, certain women refused silence and wrote about that which they were expected to keep secret. The women portrayed here were unafraid of the blank page.” The performance is presented in French.
Admission is free and open to the public. Free parking is available.
For more information, contact Patricia Siegel, professor and chair of the Department of Foreign Languages, at (585) 395-5844.
