Stage Directions: Conversations with Theatre Professionals

As part of the Department of Theatre’s relationship with Geva Theatre Center, this series of interactive panels allows attendees to discover various interesting and intriguing aspects of making theatre come to life.

New Dancers’ Showcase

Dance students present their unique and engaging choreography created in The College at Brockport dance studios, as they bring the fall semester to a close.

Dime-a-Dance

College at Brockport students enrolled in the current semester dance classes perform choreography developed throughout their studies, and display the skills they have acquired through hours of creativity and experimentation.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum

It will be “Comedy Tonight” when this musical romp takes the stage. Inspired by the plays of Plautus, the ancient Roman setting is fused with the high energy of classic vaudeville, the low comedy of burlesque, the witty words of Larry Gelbart (M*A*S*H) and the songs of Stephen Sondheim (West Side Story, A Little Night Music, Into the Woods).

ART Continuing through Sunday, December 6
Animal Logic: Artists Contemplate Creature Kingdoms

Contemporary society has developed interesting associations with the animal kingdom, both domesticated and wild, through personal interactions and a more informed understanding of the importance of wildlife conservation. Gallery Director Tim Massey has curated this exhibit in which artistic concepts range from analytical, humorous, sympathetic, and transferal, to fantastic. Featuring works by Brandon C. Smith, Richmond, KY; Peter Olson, DeKalb, IL; Rachael McCampbell, Nashville, TN; and Lisa Media–Paytes, Cincinnati, OH.
