The College at Brockport was among several local companies and schools recognized as good stewards of the environment by the Rochester Business Journal. The College received an Environmental Leadership Award in the �pollution prevention category� at an awards luncheon at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center today (April 13).

Dave Turkow, director of environmental health and safety accepted the award and Hillary Mosier, environmental science and biology and chair of the sustainability committee, represented the College.

Presenting the award RBJ Publisher and President Susan R. Holliday noted the College�s green and sustainability efforts in a number of areas including recycling and energy conservation. Each award recipient received a framed original painting created by Genny C, an African elephant residing at the Seneca Park Zoo.
