President's Citation Award recipient Patrick Donohue
Brockport, NY — The College at Brockport, State University of New York, today celebrated the academic success of its students during the College’s annual Honors and Awards Ceremony, held in the Seymour College Union Ballroom.
For more than 25 years, the College has recognized outstanding students for their academic achievement and dedicated service to the College and community. The ceremony began with a procession by faculty and staff in academic regalia. The top award winners spoke about their academic careers and their plans for the future.
“The people that become successful are not those who have never failed, but those that never give up,” said Natalie Pilakouta ’10, who received the Undergraduate Award from the School of Science and Mathematics.
Patrick Donohue ’10 received the President’s Citation Award, which is the College’s highest honor. He spoke of the need to continue learning even after leaving college. “Expanding personal knowledge is one of the most important things you can do,” Donahue said.
Remarks on behalf of College at Brockport faculty were given by Margaret E. Logan, PhD, associate professor in the Department of Chemistry. “We hope that we have made a difference in you; we know you have made a difference in us,” Logan said.
