... and playing lead guitar...
All roads led to Brockport on Friday, August 27 as new students, their parents siblings and friends, made their way to campus in vehicles packed with clothes and creature comforts that ranged from refrigerators, to musical instruments, and mementos from home.
When they arrived they were met by a team of helping hands attached to Brockport faculty staff and students who helped transport their cargo from vehicle to residence hall room. College President John R. Halstead was joined by other top administrators, professional staff, students, student athletes and members of the ROTC cadre to do the heavy lifting.
According to Rick Lair, facilities and planning, for 14 years the man behind Move-in-Day volunteers, nearly 400 volunteers contributed 3,000+ hours of lifting and toting to help new students settle into their new quarters. Before Welcome Weekend concludes about 1,960 new students will have taken up residence at the College, putting overall College enrollment in the neighborhood of 8,650 students.
