BROCKPORT, NY—The College at Brockport, State University of New York, has received the largest gift in the school’s 177-year history in the form of a $2 million anonymous donation. The gift will be used to support scholarships for Brockport students.
“All of us at The College at Brockport are elated by the generosity of this wonderful gift,” says Brockport President John R. Halstead, PhD. “It will be used to bolster the primary mission of the College—promoting student success. We are incredibly thankful to this wonderful couple who has chosen to invest in our students.”
The gift was made by a Brockport Professor Emeritus and his wife. The couple felt compelled to give back to a place where they say they spent their happiest years.
“This gift provides great and needed support to our students. Our faculty emeriti are a vital asset for the College,” says Brockport Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Anne E. Huot, PhD. “This type of leadership demonstrates the belief they have in The College at Brockport, its students, and its mission.
