BROCKPORT, NY—The College at Brockport, State University of New York, celebrated the 225th anniversary of the United States Constitution with a longstanding tradition Sept. 17. Brockport again hosted a naturalization ceremony as part of the College’s American Democracy Project initiative.
“The Constitution is a living, breathing document that preserves and spells out our nation’s great values,” said Brockport President John R. Halstead, PhD, as he welcomed the audience. “There is no more fitting way to mark Constitution Day than to warmly welcome you, America’s newest citizens.”
The Honorable Jonathan W. Feldman presided over the ceremony, which naturalized 74 new citizens that hailed from 40 different countries.
