The College at Brockport Celebrates Veterans Day

BROCKPORT, NY�The College at Brockport, State University of New York, hosted a number of events and activities designed to celebrate Veterans Day.

The College collected cards and created care packages to send off to the troops as a token of its gratitude. A table was set up at Seymour College Union that encouraged members of the campus community to make thank you cards, while a slide show played in the background that highlighted the veterans who are a part of the Brockport community.

On Nov. 11, Brockport held its first Veterans Day 5K, Run, Walk or Roll. The event raised more than $1,500 that will be used to create a scholarship for Brockport veterans.

And on Nov. 12, the festivities concluded with a flag raising ceremony and a veterans panel discussion, where veterans shared their military experience and how they adjusted to civilian life.
