Purple Run 4(k) Change Raises Domestic Violence Awareness

Funds raise will help establish an on-campus memorial for domestic violence victims

BROCKPORT, NY—The College at Brockport, State University of New York, community will run for change May 9. And many will be doing it wearing purple.

Brockport is hosting the Purple Run 4(k) Change, an event designed to raise money and raise awareness about domestic violence. The event, which will take place on the College Mall outside of the Seymour College Union, includes a 4k run, music, lawn games and more. Registration begins at 5:30 pm with the race beginning at 7 pm. The night will conclude with a lantern release.

Proceeds from different fundraising activities at the event will be used to support Rape Crisis Services, a scholarship fund in memory of Alexandra Kogut, a Brockport freshman who passed away in September, and to create an on-campus memorial for victims of domestic violence.
