BROCKPORT, NYThe College at Brockport, State University of New York, celebrated Veterans Day with a full slate of activities. Below are some of the highlights:
Vets 5K Run, Walk or Roll: Proceeds from the second annual 5K went to benefit a newly-established Veterans Scholarship at the College.
Flag Ceremony & Veterans Day Celebration: A flag raising ceremony was held at 11 am on Nov. 11 on the Campus Mall to officially commemorate Veterans Day at the College.
Complimentary Veterans Lunch, Nov. : The Brockport Auxiliary Service Corporation (BASC) thanked Brockport veterans with a complimentary lunch. A free pizza combo was served throughout the day at Kinetic Kafe or the Union Square Food Court to Veterans with proof of military service.
Veterans Library Display: A display examining the impact of the GI Bill on the growth of The College at Brockport was on display in the Drake Memorial Library in the week leading up to Veterans Day.
Brockport Says Thank You: Members of the Brockport community wrote thank you cards to Veterans, thanking them for their service. Efforts were also made to send care packages to the troops.
