BROCKPORT, NY—The Brockport Foundation, the fundraising arm of The College at Brockport, State University of New York, visited New York City Jan. 30-31 to discuss strategy and garner further support for the College’s comprehensive fundraising campaign.
Brockport President John R. Halstead, PhD, announced that Pursue Something Greater: The Campaign for Brockport, has now raised $19.1 million of its ambitious $25 million goal. To recognize the contributions of the Brockport Foundation board members who have been a driving force behind the campaign’s success, SUNY Chancellor Nancy L. Zimpher, PhD, inducted several board members into the prestigious SUNY Chancellor’s Society—reserved for donors who have contributed more than $100,000. Ten Brockport Foundation board members have now been inducted.
In addition to the Foundation Board meeting, the visit featured a gathering of New York City-based alumni. Zimpher and Halstead joined Foundation Board members and College leadership to welcome more than 100 alumni to an event at Soho Grand Hotel in Manhattan.
“We were thrilled to have Chancellor Zimpher on hand to welcome our alumni and to join our Foundation Board of Directors meeting in New York City,” said Roxanne Johnston, Brockport’s Vice President for Advancement and President of the Brockport Foundation. “The Chancellor’s leadership, along with the leadership of President Halstead, have made an immeasurable impact on the success of our campaign and our ability to strengthen alumni connectedness.”
